VAGABOND CHILD He had hidden so much within his heart yes, so much behind a smiling exterior the other kids never knew they didn’t have to his mummy loved him she said so, most nights before she put to bed. He left her home to walk the streets he saw the whores and all the thieves he saw the death in the gutters and streets it showed him his way. He fought with dogs an slept with rats the only friends he had in this world he sold his arse to pump his veins the only way. Memories they took him back but he could drag himself away he found a home, and family and friends they showed the way. They don’t want me, I don’t want me thought it would come so easily it was never you, ‘twas me. Hello mum, thanks for living and giving me this chance of life but I’ve got my own ideas you got to let me live my life the best way I know how. Hello mum, thanks for giving and I must thank my dead father, too this troubled child never knew what life was until it had him down and kicked him in the teeth. In the parks I saw the children play it brought a smile, but so many tears I turned away but it wouldn’t stop I saw your smile and felt all my fears oh my mama you gave me this sweet life you gave me a smile but so many tears I turned away but that was not enough it’s all too much for me so many fears...

THE SUNDAY RISING In this chamber’s shade I lie here with my lady love alone in our lie near purpled by a passion’s press your wings unfurled then furled round me oh sable turtledove, upon dorsums down I soared within your darkness But I fear the night has run before the old man’s wake the old gent that be the sun will come our time to take he’s always there yes he always follows he’s at my door and at my window stupid old fool why d’you think yourself so great the king he rides, you can’t be late. Alone we lie here in my room and again Mister Punctual has come too soon he’s always there, yes he always follows he’s at my door and at my window stupid old fool why d’you think yourself so great the king he rides, you can’t be late. Alone we lie here in my room and again Mister Punctual has come too soon we have a curtain that won’t succumb to him but unexpected and uninvited he comes peeping in my window… In this chamber’s shade I lie here with my lady love alone in our lie near purpled by a passion’s press your wings unfurled then furled round me oh sable turtledove upon dorsums down I soared within your darkness. But I fear the night has run before the old man’s wake the old gent that be the sun will come our time to take our humble curtain won’t succumb to him but he finds ways out there to be looking in. Alone we lie here in my room and again Mister Punctual has come too soon we have a curtain that won’t succumb to him but unexpected and uninvited he comes peeping in my window bringing me another sunday bringing me another day.

TEENAGE SWEETHEARTS Teenage Sweethearts is it your whims that control you childish desires for sparkle and flash to satisfy your peers and compensate your- selves in body and mind You there - crying in utter despair of weeping acne and cursed fat ankles A teenager’s lot is not a happy one but you look to find relief you play your games yes you play in pain your fiendish games, no thought for the hearts of the slain You grasp at perfection beautiful faces, beautiful bodies, beautiful people Oh, pretentious princess, you laughed in your riddle while you watched me burn and still came back to turn the spit and fan the miserizing flame Cruel Ceasaria, my Neronia in wicked kind what leadened cup kissed your lips what fickled fancies tickled your brain what sullen pleasure did you find in my pain as I looked up your thumb was down what defections can do to a teenager’s mind. No answers that I can find you had no hope of finding such a paradise such places you should have known only exist in the novice mind you always demanded the next best thing and mummy always came through with the diamond ring, and all you really needed, and all those other things but not this time, this time is mine and sweety-pie you’re going to find that I’ve planned my sting, I’ve covered everything so daddy’s little princess you can crown your new king. So I fell from heaven yes I fell from grace tried to take what I deserved and I lost my place but now revenge is mine and the taste of it’s sweet and I’m going to make you suffer you’ll burn in your defeat Little angel your wings are mine I’m the bearer of your light yes I’m your morning star save your sympathies for yourself cause I’m you lord Lucifer and I’m going to rip the wings I’m going to rip the wings off this butterfly You can’t fly away, you’ll never fly away but I’ll throw you away, when I’m finished with you. What now? I’m here all alone, so cold. I jumped upon a dreamboat my childish exploits, my fantasies all abord. Look at me, sweet sixteen, my crying heart you leave me, I hate to cry on my own my childish exploits, my dreams are crashing down on the shore I admit in the beginning I couldn’t get over you now I see the light something’s rising through me. A teenager’s lot is not a happy one but you look to find relief you play your games, yes you play in pain your fiendish games no thoughtsfor the hearts what fickled fancy tickled your brain what sullen pleasure did you find in my pain as I looked up your thumb was down what defections can do to the teenager’s mind none such and so much for the teenage sweethearts

WHERE THE RIVER RUNS Hello this is the real world can you hear me can you see? Where we lived where the river runs now it’s gone, it’s gone, and where are we? I cannot offer you labyrinths in Egypt pyramids on Mars no frozen fancy in this offering of mine. Hey all you I’ve dragged myself from the ash from the sidewalk of this world from your frontyard I want no part of it I want to go back to where the river runs. I cannot offer you labyrinths in Egypt pyramids on Mars no frozen fancy in this suffering of mine. Where the river runs there’s no offering of labyrinths or pyramids where the river runs!

DAYS GONE BY You pull me up and push me down when you’re around just for talking you refuse when I reach out my hand I can’t understand what’s going on in your mind no, I don’t want to share you cause I fear I could loose you totally. Time went by without a chance to rearrange the situation we spent months to find a way not to astray but we can’t find one then you come to say goodbye eye to eye to watch me crying to watch me dying to watch me fall on my knees to beg you please to stay here with me for the rest of my life You were glued at my side you don’t allow me to run my own things you sucked dry my mind you spit me out like a pit bitter taste seems you got no time to waste was it all for nothing don’t want to fight for an illusion seems it don’t matter anyway For so many years we blindly strayed across thin ice don’t solve our problems but get lost in deepest night not knowing what we carried always in our minds with traces leads so far before our time So all we do ends up in pain it’s no use to remain it’s all over Now shake off your sweaty chains go that step too far don’t waste precious time The bleeding ceased the wound screams out and on damned in an everlasting fire we can’t undo what’s already done that’s not a question of desire I slowly start to realize there’s a life here on my own my and mine I need to live

FOREVER LOST She saw, she said the coming of the end when I would look into her dead eyes or she in mine and what to find. Two bodies as cold as snow both our hearts as still as stone and memories long forgotten our treasure thrown away Now, my love, be it at any cost we must love now - or be forever lost. Let us grab these seconds these minutes and these hours with both our hands squeeze what we can from these moments into our thirsting hearts before time’s hands tear ours apart Heartbeats trap us in time lost within these moments between each thumping pound it’s all the distant sound from you and I. She saw, she said, the loosing of a friend when she would look into my dead eyes to know my mind - and what to find. Lost to this world

FREEDOM WILL BE MINE Never left alone to find my own way given things to see them taken the picture of Christ’s crucifiction transfixed in my head - now gone. All thrown at me what’s considered good truths all truths they said ah but to an easy mind muted heart or dead soul they were here - now gone Yes from them but in me and I will always decide to whom I will give my allegiance let me now - carry on You demand to know more then please hold your tongue and your questions I’ll answer but not in few words my lady’s patience will give her reward truth’s here deception has gone So please listen to me please listen to me. You have the time because you want to know and I have the will to conform now listen now and know my sin because now I have to tell you. I won’t be freed they won’t concead cause I dared and disagreed. Save me from the fire they’re giving me touch me please touch me I feel I’m going down into the darkness of some submission please touch me please hold me love me don’t let them break me down Nooo! See them trying to screw me racking me down dragging me down there to that fall no not me not going down there to fall no no not me my life’s worth more than this absurd frame I’ve spat in death’s face and my arms rip these chains from these dark mortered walls and my fists will punch a hole through these slime covered stones. I fall into the daylight running got to keep running faster, running faster running faster got to keep running across this hostile ground I got to keep running faster running faster, running faster got to keep running. My limbs only swing now my feet drag the ground now sweat burns my eyes now but my heart drags me on across the rocks and broken branches through the wilds of this night across a lifetime of pain through the darkness of night a tortured heart drags me on to my freedom, my freedom I can see it now my freedom’s beaming light. Lying and floating in this small wooden boat peace upon this cool flowing river of hope it’s current cushions my spirit’s spine while bumping ferned banks of the river’s wind waters splash peace in the cool night air shadows of willows blank out my despair my eyelids slow collapse but no sleep to keep the night is pitch and no moonlight glow the escape is safe until the morning crows drift to dream I drift drift to dream dreaming! Save me from the fire they’re giving me touch me please touch me I feel I’m going down into some darkness of my submission please touch me please hold me love me love, what is love Dawn, daylight, wait, I can see the swathy steed tied to a broken tree by the river bank it’s there just as planned I jump to the leather of this black beasts back and grab it’s belly with my knees and heels grabing reins and snorting air I ride screaming! I ride screaming across the followed fields and full fields of flowing wheat and corn through a whiley wind that dares to hold me back to the red hill where I’ll see all. Now upon the red hill looking down and yes the ship awaits it’s there upon a cool blue windless sea can I be free allowed to leave not allowed, but free to leave this god forsaken land of my father long gone and at odds with since my first grasp at reason what they told me what I was to accept in the blindlessness of their mindless teaching now no more freedom will be mine!

THE SOUL CREATION There she stands in a moment of calm between now and when? Anticipation of the loneliness that will surround her then, There is no redeeming light, no hand to help her, She only knows the comfort of what been; herself, her tormentor. She looks around for something to tear down and breaks what bends Theres nothing left but this emptiness, why make amends She claws and rips and bites and spits, time without end Why has this world washed its hands of me? Why am I alone again? This room, her world painted pitch in her temper’s torment Her dripping brush is thrown blood-black at her world of concrete Dark time, no-love, untouched its bone had tares her But her heart is numb, her lips struck dumb nothing seems to scare her She looks around for something to tear down and breaks what bends Theres nothing left in this emptiness, why make amends She claws and rips and bites and spits, time without end Why has this world washed its hands of me? Why am I alone again? What’s heaven hold For my tormented soul After this hell Has squeezed the life from it My God, I’ll fear and worship Shivering I’ll kneel and bow To my tormented lover Brother, sister, father, mother My God and only friend Shivering I will depend on you My tormented lover Mother, father, sister brother You are my hopelessness But my companion in loneliness Alone, alone you come to me Alone, alone I’ll always be Your soul creation My soul’s creation My God, my God Why has thou forsaken me?
